The Artist Identity & Personal Brand online course will guide you through an 8-Step process that will provide you with simple, relevant, artist-centered methods to define your vision, personal story, core competencies, values and mission.

VISION

Artists begin by creating a well-defined vision. The artist’s vision consists of artist’s practice or medium, what the artist seeks to create and achieve through their art, their work, the people the artist would like to experience their work, and the desired impact that the artist’s work will have on the community that experiences it.

Personal Story

Our personal vision is often intimately connected to our personal background. Artists explore their personal history, experiences and defining moments from their past. The outcome is a story that explains who they are and why they have their vision.

Core Competencies

Knowing your artist identity has some practical components. In this part of the course artists define what they do well. 

 

STANDARDS

 

How we respond to our personal experience and how we approach our work is a reflection of the values that define how we create. In this part of the course artists define their core standards.

MISSION

The artist mission describes how they will pursue their vision. In this part artists will define their mission by considering their vision, personal story, core competencies, and values.

PERSONAL BRAND

The artist brand is the artist signature. It is the essence of who you are. Drawing from the vision, story, values and mission, artists will define their personal brand.

Resume

The resume is a tool that can be used to convey who you are to people who you want to work with to create artistic work. In this part of the course, artists will develop an artist resume with the most important elements highlighted.

Communication Plan

The artist identity and personal brand ives the artist a clear understanding of themselves equipping them with the tools to give the world an understanding of who they are. In the final step of this course artists will create a communication plan so they can plan where, when and how they will communicate who they are to the world.
